Parastatals

  • The Western Region Branch of the Development Bank of Southern Africa, Midrand, Gauteng, which required Balanced Scorecard implementation assistance. The service included two workshops for 27 individuals (project managers, analysts and economists) and facilitated assistance in developing a set of Strategy Maps
  • CASIDRA, a major development agency and a non-profit company with only one shareholder viz. the Department of Agriculture of the Western Cape Provincial Government
  • The South African Heritage Resource Agency's (SAHRA) Grading and Declarations Unit, which is  responsible for identifying, in cooperation with historians, archeologists and cultural experts possibly important sites, for grading sites according to norms and for having worthy sites declared and gazetted as national sites

Universities, colleges, academies & companies involved in training

  • The Stellenbosch Sport Science Centre of the University of Stellenbosch which needed workshops with the aim of commercialising the services of the huge Coetzenburg sport complex
  • The Marketing Department of the Graduate School of Business of the University of Cape Town
  • Boland College, Strand Campus, a technical college
  • The Cape Wine Academy which serves the wine industry through offering a range of sophisticated courses to members of the public as well as to individuals employed in the wine industry and in the hospitality industry
  • Triple E Training which provides Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET)
  • Verhoef Training, an IT training company with international connections, which has 70% of its client base in Gauteng. It manages it operations long-distance from Somerset West with the aid of a sophisticated CRM database
  • Soansbury, an independent floral designer with one client, the Mount Nelson Hotel, Cape Town, who started a school of floristry

Trusts and Public Welfare Organisations

  • Huis der Nederlanden, now SACNAF (South African Centre for the Netherlands and Flanders), a cultural foundation which is also involved in community training programmes, which repositioned itself to increase its sponsorship base and its own revenue-generating capacity. (I subsequently served on the foundation's board for 5 years.)
  • The Peace Parks Foundation, a non-profit foundation created by Dr Anton Rupert, specializing in facilitating and funding the creation of transborder conservation areas in Africa and between South Africa and her neighbouring countries
  • The Greater Stellenbosch Development Trust (GSDT) which created the iKhaya Trust Centre in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch, which runs a number of projects including an Education Project, an After-School Care Project, an Entrepreneurs Project, a Business Support Project while it also runs the centre as the iKhaya Centre Project.
  • The Stellenbosch Community Development Programme (SCDP) which specialises in providing nutritional programmes at two schools in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch, while also running a vegetable garden for mothers, and a crafts club. In 2009 it ran a parenting programme aimed at imparting knowledge and skills to mothers and a youth programme concerning life skills.

Confidentiality agreement

By accepting a brief, ABPLAN honours client/consultant confidentially in regard to any sensitive inside information that a client may divulge. If the client so wishes, a Confidentiality Agreement could be concluded.
